Beginner Master Class Schedule
All students beginning on an instrument in
the 6th grade this year need to make plans to attend 5 of the 6
Master Classes listed below at Dewitt Perry Middle School. These master classes give the students a
chance to work in a group format and learn the basics of the instrument. The students that ordered their instrument
from Music and Arts or will be playing on school owned instruments will receive
their instrument during master class. If you did not rent from Music and Arts you
will need to bring your instrument to the first master class. At the master
class students will learn how to put the instrument together, how to take care
of it, and how to play the first few notes. Students not attending will fall
behind for the first few weeks of band class and it might sacrifice their
initial enjoyment of the instrument.

Please
note that there are two different times for the Clarinets; due to the number of
clarinets in 6th grade, it is necessary to split the class into two
different times, so that each student receives individual attention. Students have been separated by their
elementary schools; Carrollton and McCoy Elementary will be group “Mighty” while
Strickland and Good Elementary will be group “Eagle”.

Parent Meeting in the Band hall (approximately 7:00pm)

Pay your Band School Year Fees for the 2013-2014 school year, Order Band Car
decals, and other spirit wear.

Band
Handbook Forms, fill out at home and bring to the meeting.

There
is a new fee for School-Owned-Instruments of $50. Bring your School owned
instrument check-out form along with your $50 to the meeting. Please make all payments payable to Friends
of the Eagle Band.

Meet
with Band Directors and get important calendar and concert dates. Everything
you need to know about the 2013-2014 Band season will be discussed…you don’t
want to miss this!
